- Clock hands fit all our center mounting shaft clock movements, except our high torque movement.
** To install: Press the hour hand onto clock shaft. Hold the minute hand in place with either the open or closed shaft nut.
Some gold hands have a protective film on them. Remove this film before installing.

QUARTZ CLOCK INSTALLATION GUIDE
Choosing the Right Shaft Size:
* Select your movement size based on shaft length measurement. "Shaft Length" refers to the threaded metal portion of the movement's central mounting shaft. This is the part that fits through your clock face (requires 11/32" shaft hole).
* We recommend choosing a threaded shaft length at least 1/8" longer than the thickness of your clock face. This allows a bit of extra room for the mounting hardware.
For example, if your clock face is 5/16" thick, choose a 7/16" shaft length.
Assembling Your Standard TAKANE Clock Movement:
1. If you purchased the optional hanging bracket, begin by slipping the round hole of the hanger over the hand shaft.
2. Next, slip the rubber washer over the hand shaft.
3. Now insert the shaft through the back side of your clock face.
4. Slip the brass washer over the hand shaft.
5. Next, add the shaft nut and gently use your fingers to secure it in place. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
6. Install the hour hand onto the shaft. The circular hole may have a collar which should face DOWN toward the movement.
7. Place the minute hand, with a slightly oblong oval hole, on the end of the mounting shaft.
8. If your clock does NOT have a second hand, you can finish the assembly with the closed end nut, or “finish cap.”
9. If your clock DOES have a second hand, you will follow step 7 with the open “minute nut."
10. Finally, press the second hand into the opening at the end of the shaft using firm pressure. It must snap into the peg at its center.
