- This is the original Cone 5 stoneware casting body. Fires well in both gas and electric kilns. For a semi-vitreous, hard ware, Moroccan Sand makes a reliable stoneware slip that can be cast in all standard molds.
- Slip casting is a popular ceramic technique used for producing multiple, identical, or complex-shaped pottery items by pouring liquid clay (slip) into absorbent plaster molds. As the mold absorbs water, a solid layer of clay forms on the inside. Excess slip is poured out, leaving a hollow piece that dries, shrinks, and is removed.
