OPEN HOUSE
Our newest kiln winner is Sherry Karimi of Cave Creek. Sherry's name was drawn
on Saturday, January 21st by Mike Sievers from Skutt Manufacturing. Sherry won a
beautiful new Skutt KM1018 - 240 Volt Kiln. CONGRATULATIONS !
3rd ANNUAL CLAY OLYMPICS
We had a wonderful time at Marjon's 3rd Annual Clay Olympics!
We'll be posting all the winners' names soon. For now we want
you to know that Laura Fraedrich of Phoenix was the lucky winner
of the brand new Skutt KM818. Laura is a ceramic student of Harry Kaino's
at Glendale Community College.
We were able to donate this years' pieces to be included at Arizona Clay/Waste Not
"Empty Bowls" Lunch that takes place in October. They will be able to feed even more
people from the efforts of Clay Olympic entrants this year!

Hal Hjalmarson and Jim Calhoun demonstrated the fine art of wheel throwing
using Laguna clay.
Rick MacPherson and Keith Kern showed how to use the new slump and hump molds
from Mayco using Aardvark clay.
Susan Kelly from Royal demonstrated the new "wisp" brushes. Duncan had two great
valentine projects, Carol Richard showed quick and easy projects using Concepts. Sue
Cragar conducted a make & take of a Seeley Toaster Stone with a Rooster theme.
Dottie Weedman lead two china painting projects showing how to customize a decal.
Nancy Kincaid did a great job of showing Magic Metallics and the new "Wave" brushes.
We had door prize winners every 15 to 30 minutes. Debra Dollarhide was here when her
name was drawn by Mike Sievers from Skutt. She is the winner of a brand new shiny
KM1018 kiln. It was so much fun to have her present when she won. She called her
husband and he came right in from Fountain Hills to pick it up and take it home!
