CONE 10 HIGH FIRE LEADLESS GLAZES
#16 TRANSPARENT 190520
This is a good, all-purpose clear gloss glaze which fires from cone
5 to cone 10. It works well with oxide colorants, and a light to
medium application is recommended.
#41 WHITE 818
A semi-gloss white when thick and grey white when thin. Best on
stoneware with medium reduction.
ALFRED CELEDON 81
A beautiful green to grey glaze that picks up the clay color
through transparency. Compatible with most brushed oxides in a
reduction atmosphere.
ARTIFICIAL SALT 190559
This artificial salt glaze produces almost identical results to the
old favorite without the hazards.
BARNARD GREEN 820
Smooth surface glaze that is transparent green on porcelain and
brown/green translucent on dark clays. It can accept some oxides
and fires best with medium reduction.
BLUE/BROWN 190557
An opaque glossy glaze that is rich blue in areas where the glaze
is thicker and brown where it breaks and becomes thinner. For best
results it should be fired in medium reduction. In oxidation firing
it becomes milky yellow.
BRIGHT BROWN/BLACK 82
An opaque, glossy glaze with a smooth surface that reveals a broken
brown/black pattern. Reacts well with light colored glazes splashed
or poured over. Black if double dipped or when thick. Fluid.
BRILLANT BLACK 0682
This very black glaze is somewhat liquid and fires at cone 9 or 10.
The surface is smooth and very glossy. Not recommended for
reduction.
CEE CLEAR 812
A transparent, smooth glaze that tints green on porcelain and grey
on stoneware. It can be altered with oxide colorants and accepts
most oxides for brush decoration. Best when reduced heavy to
medium.
CELADON 190550
An ancient, traditional Asian glaze. It is translucent with grayish
green color and a semi-gloss surface. The translucency allows some
of the clay body to show through the glaze. Celadon reacts
beautifully with most oxides in reduction firing.
CHUN BASE 83
A transparent-translucent glaze, depending on application. Reacts
well with copper, cobalt and rutile/iron oxides. Excellent over all
cone 10 bodies, but best over porcelain. Smooth, fluid surface. Can
be altered with the use of oxides.
CHUN CLEAR 190527
A translucent, gloss glaze which is transparent when applied thin.
It reacts well with iron, copper and cobalt. It has traditionally
been used for glaze in porcelain and works well in light to medium
reduction firing.
CONE 10 HIGH FIRE LEADLESS GLAZES
CLEAR 0693
This transparent, oxidation glaze is excellent for color
development at cone 9 or 10. A good base glaze for dark vivid
colors, or add opacifier with stains for wonderful pastels. Not
recommended for reduction.
CRYSTAL PALACE 10 190561
Remarkable crystalline effects. Results are inconsistent and
erratic but always exciting. Additions of 1-3% rutile, titanium
dioxide and cobalt with additions of zinc will enhance the
effect.
FLAMBE BLUE 821
A smooth translucent glaze that is a strong blue when oxidized and
a deep blue maroon when heavily reduced.
G-MATT BASE 85
A light tan base that is smooth and opaque. The base can be altered
with the use of oxides. Accepts most brush decoration done with a
variety of oxides. Looks best in medium to heavy reduction.
HT51 86
A base glaze that has a light grey/green tint. Accepts most oxides
as brush decoration or as additives. Looks best in medium to heavy
reduction.
IRON RED 190556
A member of the Tenmoku and Kaki family of glazes. It is a rich,
red semi-gloss glaze which has some mottling. The brightest color
is achieved over porcelain or white stoneware in oxidation firing.
Dark clay bodies or reduction firing tends to make this glaze red-
black. Iron red does not lend itself to some oxides in
decoration.
JON'S CLEAR 190558
An alternate to #16 transparent. This glaze is excellent on
porcelain and smooth stoneware. It is recommended this glaze be
thinly applied for best results. Fires cone 5 to 10.
K-9 GRAY/BLUE 190553
A transparent glaze which allows the texture of the clay body to
show through. It is a shiny glaze which tends to be a deep gray
blue with some mottling. It reacts well with oxides such as iron
and rutile and works best in medium reduction firing.
KCNST 817
An opaque, plum glaze that reacts well with lighter color glazes
poured or dipped over. Consistent, semi-fluid, and accepts a strong
reduction.
LAGUNA CLEAR 815
A translucent glaze with strong hints of blue and white. Accepts
most oxides as colorants and as brush decoration.
MG-2 MATT WHITE 190522
A semi-matt opaque white glaze which has a slight bluish tint in
medium to heavy reduction. It reacts well with oxides, and works
best under medium reduction.
PM EGGSHELL 190532
This is an opaque white glaze with an eggshell texture; it reacts
well with oxides. The best results are obtained in light to medium
reduction firing.

STONEY MATT 190555
An opaque, off-white glaze with a semi-matt finish. It works nicely
with oxide decoration. Best results are obtained with a medium
application and light to medium reduction firing.
TAN MATT 190524
An opaque, semi-matt glaze which fires off-white or beige color
depending on the clay body and amount of reduction. Reacts well
with iron as a colorant. A thin to medium application is
recommended.
TENMOKU #1 190525
Known traditionally in the Orient as the hare's fur glaze because
of the way the brown and black break together on heavy
applications. It is an opaque gloss glaze, not suited for use with
oxide decoration. It has high iron and medium calcium content.
TENMOKU #2 190526
An opaque, gloss glaze with characteristics much like tenmoku #1,
but tends to show more plum-red in conjunction with the black. It
is high in iron and low in calcium content. Not suited to oxide
decoration.
TURQUOISE MATT 190554
An opaque, blue-green color with some mottling in larger areas. It
does not react well with oxides and should not be fired in heavy
reduction.
WHITE GLOSS 0691
This very smooth sanitary white glaze is compatible at cone 9 or
10 firing temperatures. Well suited for oxide or stain decoration
or additions. Not recommended for reduction.
WHITE WAXEY 190531
An opaque, semi-matt glaze. It has a waxey finish and works well
with oxides. The best results are obtained in light to medium
reduction firing.

ARTIFICIAL SALT 190562
Similar to cone 10 artificial salt but formulated for cone 5
firing.
BARIUM MATT 06122
This semi-matte glaze is not fluid. Medium application is best for
this clear semi-matte. Best in oxidation. Excellent in color
development.
BIRCH WHITE-WHITE OPAQUE MATT 190511
A smooth, opaque white glaze with a soft matt finish. It reacts
nicely with oxides for colorants. A medium application works best
with colors and textures depending on the atmosphere of the
kiln.
BROWN 0699
A warm brown that has shades of gold. Opaque and smooth. Best at
oxidation.
CONE 5 HIGH FIRE LEADLESS GLAZES
CHINA WHITE 190510
A nice cone 5 Chun-type glaze. It is transparent white with medium
application and transparent when applied thin. Works well with
oxide colorants, but heavy reduction firing should be avoided.
CLEAR 06157
This smooth surface, transparent glaze is best when medium
application is used. It can be used for chrome/tin stain brushwork.
Good base glaze for deep colors with dark stain additions. Contains
no zinc and is best in oxidation.
CLEAR GLOSS 06113
A transparent glaze that is best fired to oxidation. The smooth
surface is best achieved by applying with medium thickness.
Contains zinc.
CRYSTAL PALACE 5 190560
Same as crystal palace 10 in a cone 5 glaze.
HORIZON OPAQUE WHITE 190509
An opaque white gloss glaze which contains tin to give it a bright
clean white color. Medium application is recommended. Does not take
heavy reduction firing very well.
ITALIAN STRAW 190504
A mottled gloss glaze which is a golden beige color. Reacts nicely
with various colorants to produce softer mottled texture and
colors.

KLAUS HARD WHITE SATIN 06151
This satin white glaze is ideal for surfaces that need special
hardness. This glaze contains alumina and is ideal for floor
tile.
LIDO SATIN 190501
This is an opaque glaze with a semi-gloss surface. It is a light
oatmeal color with some mottling. Medium application and light to
medium reduction firing will produce satisfactory results.
LIGHT BLUE 0698
Blue, mottled, opaque glaze that is best dipped once to medium
thickness. Fires best in oxidation. Very smooth surface.
SATIN WHITE 06130
This opaque,smooth, off-white glaze has a satin touch. Best when
applied to medium thickness. Oxidation only.
SEMI CLEAR MATT 190508
Recommended for use over engobe and oxide decoration. It also
reacts well with various oxide colorants to produce a wide variety
of colors. Light to medium reduction firing is recommended.
WHITE 06138
This basic white contains no zinc. It is an excellent glaze for
brush work. Good base for stain additions to produce pastel colors.
Best in oxidation or light reduction.
WHITE 06103
This glossy, smooth, cone 5, opaque glaze is very stable. The white
is consistent when applied in a thick manner. Best in oxidation.
Contains zinc.
RAKU LEADLESS GLAZES
AWABI SHELL 190541
An all-purpose glaze for raku work yielding an iridescent abalone
shell effect that reacts well with various oxides. Medium to heavy
application is recommended.
BEGS 19049
A milky white gloss surface that shows grey crackle when reduced.
Somewhat fluid. Medium application suggested.
BLACK LACQUER 190544
A dependable raku glaze which produces a glossy black surface
texture when fired at cone 06. Medium to heavy application is
recommended.
BLACKFOOT 190412
An extremely fluid, gloss black that is best when applied with
medium-plus thickness.
BORAX 190411
A very textured non-gloss surface that yields a dull grey, black
and yellow when reduced. Not fluid. Medium application
suggested.
BRIGHT BUFF 190410
A white surface glaze that is very fluid. With reduction can turn
a tan/grey with iridescent highlights. Medium to thick application
suggested.
BRONZE NIGHTINGALE 190421
An extremely striking patterned glaze. Smooth surface, metallic
dark and light copper/bronze color. Can give the appearance of a
new penny on the background of an old penny. Best with medium
application.
COPPER 190413
A spectacular metallic iridescent glaze that produces a myriad of
colors including: maroon, gold, silver, blue, red and copper. Best
when applied medium to thick.
CORNWALL STONE 190419
A large cornwall content yields a white/transparent surface that
reduces to a splotchy grey smooth surface. Glossy but not extremely
fluid. Recommended medium application.
DARK RED 190415
A glossy, fluid glaze that reveals a maroon/red and brown/black
surface. Fluid. Apply with medium thickness.
DYNASTY BLUE 190543
A solid, medium blue-green glaze which is slightly iridescent. With
the use of varying amounts of copper, a slightly metallic effect
can be obtained.
KINGIN GOLD SILVER 190545
This glaze can produce a wide variety of lustrous, iridescent
effects. A medium to heavy application is suggested.
LITHIUM SLIP 190414
A smooth, not glossy, surface of maroon and green that provides
great patterns with reduction. Not fluid. Apply to medium
thickness.
RAKU LEADLESS GLAZES
RAKU BURST 190420
Extremely colorful surface, this is very iridescent and produces
a deep brown, gold and copper finish. Best dipped medium to
thick.
SHINJU PEARL 190546
A good pearlescent glaze that functions very well as a base for the
addition of coloring oxides. This glaze can produce excellent
metallic lusters.
SODA 19048
Light colored and textured glaze that is not very fluid. Accepts
reduction and develops patterns of grey and sometimes black. Medium
application suggested.
TUTTI FRUTTI 19042
A gloss surface resulting from copper. Glaze is fluid and colors
range from greenish yellow to iridescent purple and maroon.
Thickness of application can alter results.
UGUISI NIGHTINGALE 190542
This glaze can produce varying shades of iridescent blue, green and
purple depending on thickness of application and firing
conditions.
WHITE MATT 19041
A light, dry, textured glaze that is not fluid. Medium application
is recommended.
