49er WC416
Popular throwing body with good thermal shock resistance. Exceptionally plastic blend of Missouri and Ohio fireclays. Gray- buff color in reduction with slight "pepper spot" appearance.

AMADOR 12501
An outstanding, all purpose, orange/brown, moist body. Has 70 mesh sand and is a difficult body to crack during firing. Durable and affordable. Good for professional or student. Reduces a warm orange/brown, lighter in oxidation.

B-MIX 12511
A cream white clay that is easy to throw and form. Excellent glaze results. Fires off-white in reduction and lighter in oxidation. Smooth porcelain texture.

B-MIX w/SAND 12516
The addition of 10% fine, 90 mesh silica sand allows for a body with some texture. Fires gray/white when reduced and off-white when oxidized.

BABU WC428
A grolleg porcelain. Very white and good for dinnerware.

BIG POT 12505
Coarse body designed specifically for use with large ware in mind. 30 to 60 mesh sand and grog in this body allows for tall hollow forms. Fires brown reduced and buff oxidized. Can be used for hand construction.

BIG RED 12514
A course, deep red/brown reduction clay that is lighter in oxidation. Throws well and can be used for hand construction. Same texture as Big Pot.

BIG WHITE 12508
A gray/white clay with large throwing properties. 60 mesh sand and 30 to 60 mesh grog allow for strength. Fires gray in reduction and light buff/white in oxidation. Also excellent for Raku.

CA-2 WC409
All around stoneware with medium to light grog. A blend of California and Missouri fireclays. Very plastic body. Fires orange- brown in reduction.

CHEROKEE RED WC411
Good for throwing of handbuilding. A Colorado fireclay which fires red-orange in reduction with some attractive iron spotting.

DANISH WHITE WC841
This stoneware body is a good choice for small to medium work. It has exceptional strength and plasticity. Danish White fires off- white in oxidation and grayish-white in reduction. It has a smooth texture.

DANISH WHITE WITH SAND WC842
The addition of sand to Danish White stoneware adds greater strength for throwing larger pieces. The fired color is the same, but the texture is slightly coarse.

DARK BROWN 12502
A medium coarse, dark clay with 60 mesh sand. Turns deep brown in reduction and brown in oxidation. Good for various forming techniques.

DAVE'S PORCELAIN 12510
An outstanding throwing body. ideal for thin walls and larger pieces, and excellent for slab use and when a vitreous clay is desirable. Light gray in reduction, white in oxidation.

DEATH VALLEY RED WC835
A medium-coarse textured, red clay. It is similar to Rod's Bod in throwing qualities, but fires to a darker brown color and has the same iron speckling. A good clay for small to medium pottery.

DOVER GRAY WC417
A whitish gray porcelain-like stoneware. Very plastic. Good for white dinnerware and functional ware.

ENGLISH PORCELAIN WC415
A grolleg porcelain body and an excellent throwing clay. Very translucent and minimal warpage.

GRANITE WC885
Granite is a gray clay with black specks which strongly resembles its name in appearance. Excellent for small to medium wheel throwing, slab-work and sculpture. Fires gray with black specks in reduction. Granite fires a lighter gray, with black specks, in oxidation.

HALF AND HALF 12512
This clay combines white stoneware and porcelain in equal proportions. The result is a very throwable white body that is tinted by a light gray/white in reduction and slightly off-white in oxidation. Made with 70 mesh sand.

H.B.-1 WC410
Excellent throwing stoneware. Blended from Missouri fireclays and Kentucky ball clays. H.B.-1 is a very plastic body which is gray to buff in color with slight speckling in reduction.

HBCA WC427
Refer to CA-2 AND H.B.-1 descriptions. This is a blend.

JSRH w/SAND GROG WC811
A coarse, red clay body containing both sand and grog. It has good strength and plasticity for throwing medium to large pieces. JSRH fires to a nice orange-brown color under light to medium reduction.

KAI PORCELAIN WC838
A good porcelain for wheel thrown forms because of its strength, durability, and plasticity. Kai fires white in oxidation and eggshell in reduction.

KENJI PORCELAIN WC822
Kenji is a general use porcelain which is pugged firm. It has good strength for medium or small wheel throwing, and is also good for hand building. Fires white in oxidation and eggshell in reduction.

L.B. BLEND 12504
An excellent, very fluid throwing clay, which is also popular for throwing open forms-small to large. It is brownish-pink in its raw form, light brown reduced and buff in oxidation. The formula includes iron and 60 mesh sand.

LOS ALTOS BLEND WC872
This is a slightly coarse red clay which contains 60 mesh sand. It has excellent properties for all forming methods, & fires to a rich orange-brown color in medium reduction.

MARJON'S CONE 10 MOIST CLAY DESCRIPTION

LW 12517
Light color, semi-textured multipurpose body with 70 mesh sand. Fires very light gray/white with small specks reduced and off- white in oxidation. Slightly open body may not be suitable for functional ware under some conditions.

MAYA RED 12515
A medium red clay with 60 mesh sand that fires light orange/tan in oxidation and red/brown in reduction.

RAM PRESS 12519
A production ram press body with smooth materials. Fires a light gray in reduction, off-white in oxidation.

ROD'S BOD WC823
A gray general purpose clay with a medium sand texture. Large and thick-walled pieces are prone to cracking. In light to medium reduction, fires to a warm brown with iron specks which generally bleed into glazes forming brown specks.

ROD'S MIX 12513
Similar to Rod's Bod, but slightly lighter in color and very little specking.

S-60 12503
Laguna S-60 is an excellent throwing, medium-course clay made with 60 mesh sand. Good for a wide range of ware or production pottery. Fires buff in oxidation and light brown in reduction. Also very popular for Raku.

S PORCELAIN 12518
Contains no ball clay for an outstanding clean, semi-translucent body that is smooth and responsive. Avoid too much water. Fires white in oxidation and off-white in reduction.

SOLDATE-30 WC809
A gray clay with a high sand content. Pugged firm. An ideal choice for large thrown pieces and sculptural forms. Fires to a yellow- brown color under medium reduction. It has a very coarse texture.

SOLDATE-60 WC843
This clay is the same formula as Soldate-30, but contains finer 60 mesh sand. The texture is medium coarse.

STONY WHITE WC412
White stoneware with a stony mottled look in reduction. Good throwing clay suitable for dinnerware with lower than average shrinkage.

TILE & SCULPTURE WC413
Works well for handbuilding, sculpting, tiles and particularly good for large thrown work. A coarse body that fires red-orange in reduction.

TOM COLEMAN PORCELAIN TC12
One of the most translucent and yet user friendly porcelains on the market today.

WC 70 w/GROG WC70
A red clay body with medium grog texture that's well suited for medium to large forms. Fires to a medium brown color in light to medium reduction. Firing should not exceed Cone 9 in moderate to heavy reduction.

MARJON'S CONE 10 MOIST CLAY DESCRIPTION

WHITE STONEWARE 12506
An interesting light gray body with 70 mesh sand. A Cone 10 (and higher) clay which fires off-white in oxidation and gray/white in reduction. Good for RAKU at low temperature. Care should be taken at high fire use in functional ware. Slightly open body even at cone 10.

WINDSOR PORCELAIN WC879
A grolleg kaolin formulated porcelain for the discriminating potter. This superior clay is excellent for large or small forms. Translucent when construction is thin and fired to cone 10. The color is white in oxidation and off-white in reduction.

WOOD & SAGGER WC419
A "toothy" clay suitable for wheel work or handbuilding. Designed to accentuate the effects of salt, sagger, or wood firings, it fires golden to red-orange up to cone 12.

WS-10 12520
A light gray clay with 70 mesh sand. Fires off-white in oxidation and gray/buff speckled in reduction. Slightly open body may not be suitable for functional ware under some conditions.

WSM-2 12521
Similar properties to WS-10. Extra 70 mesh sand allows for rapid formation of production, thin walled open forms. Slightly open body may not be suitable for functional ware under some conditions.

MARJON'S CONE 5 MOIST CLAY DESCRIPTION

AMBER SAND WC406
Low in sand and grog content, smooth textured, soft color and excellent throwing body. Fired in oxidation, it's color is in the tan/brown color range.

ASPEN WC425
An excellent white, translucent, grolleg kaolin throwing body. Fires white in both oxidation and reduction.

B-3 BROWN 12528
A pliable clay with smooth grog and color from manganese and iron. Fires almost black when reduced and dark brown/black in oxidation.

B-MIX 12524
Cone 5 b-mix offers the same characteristics enjoyed by cone 10 b- mix. Its smooth, porcelain texture is a pleasure to throw and form and it fires to a cream color in oxidation.

BLYTHE-60 WC883
A buff colored plastic throwing body that contains 60 mesh sand for medium texture and fires buff in oxidation and yellow/brown in reduction.

BUFF SCULPTURE 12529
Excellent coarse sculpture body with 60 mesh sand and 30 to 60 mesh grog. Nice range of firing colors from buff to dark tan. Low shrinkage.

MARJON'S CONE 5 MOIST CLAY DESCRIPTION

CALICO WC871
This is a good, general purpose clay that works well for all forming methods. Iron specks generally bleed into glazes, forming brown specks. 60 mesh sand gives a medium texture. Fired at Cone 5, the oxidation color is gray/buff and the reduction color is gray/brown.

DOVER WHITE WC877
This white stoneware body is excellent for larger pieces as well as dinnerware. The addition of 90 mesh sand gives a great deal of strength to this plastic body. Fires off-white in oxidation and gray in reduction.

DOVER 60 w/SAND WC878
A coarser version of dover white. Contains 60 mesh sand for those who work on a larger scale.

ELECTRIC BROWN WC866
This clay was designed specifically to achieve a rich brown color when fired in an electric kiln. It has good strength for both wheel throwing and hand building. Contains 60 mesh sand so the texture is slightly coarse. It is not recommended that electric brown be fired in reduction.

GREYSTONE WC423
A very versatile cone 5 to cone 7, functional, stoneware body. This medium to smooth textured clay fires gray in oxidation, and is well suited for classroom ceramics involving both handbuilding and throwing. Fires off-white.

GREYSTONE w/SAND WC424
Same as greystone with the addition of sand.

HAGI PORCELAIN WC861
Hagi is a good porcelain clay for throwing small pieces and hand building. It has a smooth texture. Hagi fires white in oxidation and off-white in reduction.

HALF and HALF 12525
By combining equal amounts of white stoneware and porcelain, half & half offers a smooth, very throwable white body that is off- white in oxidation and light gray/white in reduction.

HAWAIIAN RED WC365
A red slightly coarse clay with excellent working properties for wheel throwing and hand building. It is talc free and contains sand, making it suitable for medium sized forms. Cone 5 oxidation produces red/brown and reduction color is dark red/brown.

L.B.6 12530
A Long Beach type body with 60 mesh sand and color provided by manganese dioxide. Fires gray/brown when reduced and light gray when oxidized.

LAGUNA RED SCULPTURE 12509
A medium coarse textured clay that has a large amount of 60 mesh sand and medium grog. Fires oxidation to brick red and reduction to dark brown.

MEDIUM BROWN #5 WC421
By combining plastic Missouri and Ohio fireclays with a fine grog for extra strength, this clay has become a favorite throwing body which fires a warm brown color in oxidation.

MARJON'S CONE 5 MOIST CLAY DESCRIPTION

MESA WC405
Low in sand and grog content, smooth textured, excellent throwing body. Fired in oxidation to a red or rust adobe.

MOJAVE SAND WC407
Low in sand and grog content, smooth textured, excellent throwing body. Fired in oxidation to a very light tan.

MOROCCAN SAND 12523
Light beige fired in oxidation, the body is quite vitreous, ideal for throwing functional ware, and is complimented by a full palette of lead free glazes.

MR-5 12535
Nice working body with 60 mesh sand and colored with iron. Lightly textured and known for its consistent firing. Red/brown reduced and orange/buff when oxidized.

MUNDO BARRO WC863
A red clay with heavy sand texture. It has excellent strength for throwing medium to large pottery and also for hand building. In oxidation firing, it is a medium yellow/brown, and under medium reduction it is a nice warm brown.

PORCELAIN 5 12532
Smooth, very good throwing, vitreous cone 3 to 5 porcelain. Excellent results with gas or electric firing. Gray to off-white in oxidation.

RED CALICO WC881
This clay body is a rich red version of calico clay. It is a good general purpose clay whit iron specks that generally bleed into glazes. Fires brick red in oxidation and red/brown in reduction.

RSMC WC429
A smooth textured, red stoneware body which has very low porosity and is excellent for functional ware.

SANTA FE WC404
Low in sand and grog content, smooth textured, excellent throwing body. Fired in oxidation to a golden tan adobe.

SB RED 12531
Semi-smooth red body with sand and grog. Fires paver tile red in oxidation and chocolate in reduction.

SPECKLED BUFF WC403
Low in sand and grog content, smooth textured, excellent throwing body. Fired in oxidation to a tan/brown color.

WC 52 PLAIN WC52
A smooth buff colored clay which is good for general purpose use, such as small thrown pieces and hand building. Cone 5 firing results in a buff color in oxidation and yellow/brown in reduction.

WC 52 w/SAND WC52S
The addition of sand to wc 52 plain increases its strength and workability, making it a better choice for medium sized pieces. The texture is medium coarse. The fired color is the same as wc 52 plain.

WESTONE II WC864
This is a good general purpose red clay body. It has good strength for both wheel throwing and hand building. The texture is slightly coarse and the fired color is yellow/brown in oxidation and a warm brown under light to medium reduction.

WHITE STONEWARE 12507
A gray/white body with 70 mesh sand. Fires a textured gray/white when reduced and a buff/white mottled surface in oxidation. Care should be taken when used for functional ware, not totally vitrified in most cone 5 firings. Can be used to cone 10.

WS4 12522
Similar to WHITE STONEWARE but with added flux for lower absorption. Good to cone 8.

MARJON'S CONE 06 MOIST CLAY DESCRIPTION

06 #5 RAM PRESS EM335
Basic cone 06 talc body for production pressing of all shapes.

06 RED DE EM338
A smooth clay that has many uses and is very workable for a low fire red clay. It is a medium red color in oxidation firing.

06 RED DE w/SAND EM339
Same as red de except with 70 mesh sand added for extra strength.

BUFF w/SAND EM214
A buff colored modeling clay with sand which makes it the best of the low fire clays for working on the potter's wheel. It is also stronger for larger sculptural pieces.

LAGUNA 06 RED EM333
A smooth red body that fires in oxidation only. Similar in working properties to wards 06 red but more brown/red in color.

LAGUNA 06 WHITE EM330
A smooth white clay that is pugged soft. Basic talc body. Very smooth off-white in oxidation.

LAGUNA 06 WHITE w/SAND EM331
Same as laguna 06 white except with 70 mesh sand to allow more tooth and strength.

LC RAKU WC547
An excellent raku body that readily accepts organic reduction. Talc and 30 mesh sand enhance workability and glaze results. Designed for raku only.

R-2 RED EM343
An outstanding Ohio red clay earthenware formula that is excellent for throwing, has good strength, and works well for Majolica ware R-2 red fires warm red in oxidation from cone 06 to cone 2. Unglazed, it fires to a chocolate sheen at cone 2 to cone 4.

RAKU INDUSTRIAL WC549
A specially formulated body for cone 06 reduction. This very plastic, smooth surfaced clay is engineered to provide optimum thermal shock resistance for small or large products.

RAKU-K WHITE EM345
Fine particle, excellent throwing raku clay reinforced with kyanite for exceptional thermal shock resistance.

MARJON'S CONE 06 MOIST CLAY DESCRIPTION

RAKU THROWING WC548
This clay was formulated to withstand the thermal shock of raku firing. It has a heavy sand content yielding a coarse texture. Suited for either hand building or wheel throwing.

RAM PRESS EM219
A smooth white clay formulated to be used for hydraulic ram press forming. It fires white and is pugged firm.

RED SCULPTURE EM234
A red sculpture body engineered for large items where variation in wall thickness is a concern. Ideal for hand building, murals, decorative columns, tile, etc. Minimal warping, shrinkage and cracking.

RED SMOOTH EM207
Very similar in texture and working properties to white smooth, but fires to a reddish earthenware color. This clay is often used for terra cotta work.

TERRA COTTA EM215
This very coarse, sandy, red clay was specifically formulated for sculpture work. It is also an excellent clay for throwing on the wheel. It has exceptional strength and fires to a rich red/orange color.

WARDS 06 RED EM334
A smooth pliable red clay which fires to a light brick red in oxidation only.

WARDS 06 WH MODEL EM332
A smooth white modeling clay that fires a clean white in oxidation.

WED EM217
This clay has been specifically formulated to be a very smooth, slow drying clay for modeling. It is used primarily by T.V. and movie studios and is not usually fired.

WHITE NO TALC EM211
A no talc, moist clay which has similar qualities to white smooth.

WHITE SCULPTURE EM337
A specially designed body for large handbuilt projects. this body is quite coarse and is engineered for minimum warpage and cracking. Ideal for murals, columns, etc., where varying thickness exists. Cone 06-04

WHITE SMOOTH EM210
This is an all-purpose, smooth modeling clay. It is an excellent clay for beginning techniques such as coil and slab building. The white color makes it an ideal clay for use with low fire glazes. Pugged very soft.

WHITE w/SAND EM212
The same formula as white smooth but with the addition of 60 mesh sand to add strength for larger forms.

WHITEWARE EM342
This low fire,white earthenware body has good throwing qualities and fires very strong and white. Has lower than average talc content.
